Welcome to a new section of Beloved, Be Loved that I have named Raindrops on Roses! You may wonder why I am creating this space, so I thought I would take a moment to explain.
If you spend more than thirty seconds on any social media or news outlet, you might be tempted to go hide in a cave. The world seems scary, doesn’t it? We have been conditioned to gravitate toward the negative, which keeps us scrolling and clicking, feeding anxiety and a general feeling of impending doom.
But what if we build a new habit? What if we focus on gratitude for the beauty that is, in fact, still right here…all around us?
That is what Raindrops on Roses is all about.
Sometimes I have ideas that don’t fit the intended purpose of my main page, Beloved, be Loved. Sometimes I just want to share something that made me stop and catch my breath. Sometimes, I just want to tell you our Mama Goose hatched six adorable goslings yesterday and imagine your smile as you look at their fuzzy cuteness while Daddy Goose fends off any perceived threats to his little family.
There are countless beautiful things to celebrate, and feeling like I should find words to do them all justice with a whole essay can keep me from sharing these moments due to time constraints. But what if I created a space to simply observe, reflect, and sit in wonder? Whether it is photos or a brief description of something that captured my imagination, Raindrops on Roses will be the space for these things.
I hope these short posts will remind you to stop and look for the beauty right here, where you are right now. My prayer is that they will help rewire your mind, conditioning you to look for the good and wondrous instead of what fosters fear. It’s worth it, I think, to create new, healthy habits…to notice the things that bring peace and mental health in a time rife with anxiety and anger.
I need to do this as much as anyone.
So, welcome to Raindrops on Roses. Let’s work together to push back against the machine and confuse the algorithms.
If you want to share what you are observing at any time, feel free to do so in the comments. The more we look for beauty, the more beauty we will find.
I believe it.

Yasss!!!! Love this. It's giving, One Thousand Gifts.
First, I have GOT to come see these babies. 💕 Second, yes! Let us all find the beautiful things in life and look towards those instead of the negative.
